Concept designs for the new Alice Springs Public Library are now open for community feedback, giving residents the first look at what this exciting new community space could become.
The new Library is a major partnership between Alice Springs Town Council and the Northern Territory Government, representing a $19.96 million investment in the future of Alice Springs.
Designed as a modern, welcoming and accessible community hub, the new Library will be a place for learning, connection, creativity and discovery — because libraries today are about much more than just borrowing books.
Alice Springs Mayor Asta Hill said this is an exciting milestone, but importantly, not the final word.
"We’ve listened to earlier community feedback to help shape these concept designs, and now we’re inviting residents to take the next step with us," Mayor Hill said.
"This is a major investment in our town, and we want to make sure the final result reflects what our community needs and wants."
The concept designs have already been informed by earlier community consultation, helping shape a vision for a Library that reflects how people in Alice Springs use and value the space.
Now Council is asking the community to take another look and help refine the next stage.
Whether you’re a regular library visitor, a parent chasing school holiday activities, a student needing study space, someone looking for digital access, or simply a resident who cares about the future of community spaces in Alice Springs — this is your chance to have your say.
