Seasonal Closure of Outdoor Pool
We would like to inform you of an upcoming seasonal closure of our outdoor 50m pool during the winter period, commencing 1 May and reopening on 1 September. This closure will also align with adjusted winter operating hours over this period.
This decision has been made after looking closely at how the outdoor pool is used during winter. Attendance drops significantly in the colder months, while the cost to operate and maintain the outdoor pool remains high. Temporarily closing the outdoor pool over winter allows Council to manage costs responsibly, while continuing to provide reliable and safe services through the indoor pool and other facilities.
We would like to reassure members that our indoor 25‑metre lap pool will remain fully operational throughout winter, and all aquatic programs currently scheduled in the indoor pool will continue as normal. Updated hours will be displayed at reception, on our website, and across our communication channels.
We understand that changes to facility access can be disappointing and impact routines, particularly for those who enjoy outdoor swimming. Thank you for your understanding as we work to balance member experience with the practical requirements of operating the centre safely and effectively throughout the winter season.
