Health & Wellness

Alice Springs Town Council offers a comprehensive Health & Wellness Program designed to promote physical activity, social connection, and overall wellbeing among residents of all ages and abilities. The program encompasses a diverse range of free or low-cost classes, outdoor activities, and inclusive events. From gentle exercise sessions for those managing chronic conditions to energetic aqua classes and parent-friendly fitness programs, the initiative caters to a wide variety of needs and fitness levels. Specialised activities are available for seniors, youth, and people with disabilities, with an emphasis on fun, accessibility, and connection. Programs are held at various community venues, including parks and the Alice Springs Aquatic and Leisure Centre, helping make health and wellness accessible and enjoyable for all.

Pram Party for Parents!

A Pram Party is an opportunity for parents of young children to have a laugh, maybe get a little out of their comfort zone while learning a beginner move and groove class and hopefully meet someone new.
Time: 9 am to 9:45am

Youth Programs
You’ll also find an exciting range of youth-oriented fitness programs — we have regular skate sessions at the skate park, boxing fitness classes and school holiday sports and recreation activities. See what’s on this week!
ASALC Gym
You also can do your own fitness routine in the shaded Outdoor Gym at ASALC. With a shoulder press, cross trainer, arm bike, stationary bike, parallel bars, the options are endless! Keep an eye out for the workout of the week. Open during ASALC opening hours and cost of regular ASALC Entry fee.
Sport and Recreation
Sporting and recreational groups benefit our local community by creating fun, varied opportunities to regularly engage people, from all walks of life, in social activity – and Alice Springs is a truly sports-loving town!
From extreme mountain-biking and trail-running, to book clubs and lawn bowls, Alice has much to offer those seeking to contribute to the community, improve their health and fitness, or expand their social network.
Alice Springs has an active Heart Foundation Walking Group which meet at Council’s Civic Centre each Saturday at 7am with an end of month walk occurring at a different location. This 45 – 60 minute, medium-paced walk is suitable for people (and dogs on leashes) of all ages and abilities.
