Support Your Library
Do you have pre-loved books you no longer want?
The Library does not accept pre-loved books of any kind, unless they are historical books significant to Central Australia.
The BEST place to dispose of all your no-longer wanted books, DVDs, CDs etc. is Council’s Rediscovery Centre on Commonage Road (at the Regional Waste Mgmt. Facility) or any second hand shop in Alice Springs.
Volunteering at the Library
“If our hopes of building a better and safer world are to become more than wishful thinking, we will need the engagement of volunteers more than ever.” — Kofi Annan
The Library has two programs which rely on the generosity of volunteers:
- Read.Write.Chat (Adult literacy/language tutoring)
- Books on Wheels (Home deliveries for mobility-limited members)”
If you would like to be involved in our volunteer program, please complete the Volunteer Registration Form and we’ll be in contact when a role opens up for you.
Alternatively, you can contact the library between 10am-6pm Monday to Friday on 8950 0555 or library@astc.nt.gov.au with any questions you might have.
