Programs that support, empower and elevate the young people of Alice Springs. 

Alice Springs Town Council acknowledges the diverse skills, interests and needs of young people who live, work or study in our municipality. We know that young people enjoy opportunities to develop their skills, engage with and make positive contributions to their community and express themselves. Our Youth Programs wish to honour this in the way we design, plan and implement programs for young people. We enjoy delivering both regular annual and varied taster programs to support young people’s mixed interests which change, grow and develop as they do.

Youth Arts Prize

Entries open 18 May!

Art prize for young people in Mparntwe/Alice Springs ages 7-25

Prizes awarded in each category:

  •  Drawing & Painting

  •  Wearable arts & sustainable couture

  •  Sculpture

Entries Close 10 July 2026

How to Enter

To submit works in the Youth Arts Prize, complete the online application form on or before 5.00pm Friday 10 July 2026. Entries received after the closing date will not be accepted.  All artists under 18 years of age will require parental or guardian consent provided.

Judged by expert panel via visual assessment supported by a weighted score card.

• Drawing/Painting – Prize $300
• Sculpture – Prize $300
• Wearable Arts/sustainable couture – Prize $300
• Peoples’ Choice – Prize $500 and chance to feature on ASTC publications 

People’s Choice Age Categories - $500 prize

• Junior age group 7yrs – 11yrs
• Intermediate age group 12yrs – 18yrs
• Older age group 19yrs – 25yrs

Highly Commended Age Categories - $50 prize

• Junior age group 7yrs – 11yrs
• Intermediate age group 12yrs – 18yrs
• Older age group 19yrs – 25yrs
