      Learn to Swim

      You’re never too young or old to learn to swim! Alice Springs Aquatic and Leisure Centre (ASALC) is proudly an AUSTSWIM Accredited Centre which adheres to the highest standards of teaching and development of swimming and water safety skills. 

      Our program is broken up into the below groups: 

      1. Little Wonders 1 – 4: Water familiarisation and introduction to swimming and water safety for swimmers aged 6 months to 4 years. Levels are age based and all students will have a supervising adult in the water with them.
      2. Levels 01 – Bronze Star: Independent swimmers from ages 4 to 17 years old. Students will experience swimming, water safety and survival aspects in every level.
      3. Teen Beginners: Aimed at improving water confidence for beginner swimmers aged 12+ years.
      4. Adults: For swimmers 18 years and older. Beginner, Intermediate and Stroke Correction/​Technique classes available.

      Bookings

      Enrolling in our Learn to Swim program is easy and a great way to build water confidence and safety skills for all ages. Whether you're a beginner or looking to improve technique, our qualified instructors provide a supportive and fun environment to help you reach your swimming goals. Enrolling in our Learn to Swim program is quick and easy with our online booking system.

      Step 1: Visit Us to Register
      Before using our online system, you'll need to visit the Aquatic Centre and fill out a short registration form. Our staff will then set up your account and provide you with your login details.

      Step 2: Log In to Your Account
      Once you’ve received your login details, head to our online portal and sign in.

      Step 3: Click Parent's Name
      You will be asked to select an account to continue with. Make sure you select the Parent's Name before you continue on.

      Step 4: View Available Classes
      Click "Classes", along the top toolbar then choose "Browse Classes" to see the availabe classes. A list of classes will appear with relevant details, including time, instructor and vacancies. When you select a day and book, you are booking for the duration of the term and the lesson will be once a week, same time and day you choose. E.g: every Wednesday at 4:04pm

      Choose your class, click "Add to Cart", and follow the steps to complete your enrolment and make payment. You'll receive a confirmation email once your booking is successful.

      Program Fees

      Program fees are paid upfront at the time of booking as per the program policies. Fees vary from program to program depending on the number of lessons. Vouchers accepted at time of payment. All lessons are 30 minutes duration.

      Group Lesson: $22.50/lesson
      Private Lesson: $47.50/lesson (*via individual request only)

      Discounts

      Discounts apply to families with 2 or more children. Second child will receive a 5% discount and third or children thereafter will receive a 10% discount off the term fees.

      Vouchers (issued by Grants NT)

      $100 School Sport Voucher – Available for children enrolled in school in Alice Springs. These vouchers are issued annually in January & July and must be applied for. Register HERE

      Water Safety Awareness Program Voucher (WSAP) – Available for children under 5 years. These vouchers are valued at $50. Register HERE

      $100 Learn to Swim Voucher – Available for children under 5 years, who have completed the WSAP program. Register HERE

      Autism Approved Centre

      At Alice Springs Aquatic Centre, we are proud to be officially recognised as an Autism Approved Centre. This designation reflects our commitment to providing an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming environment for individuals with the neurodiverse needs and their families.

      Our team has completed specialised training to better understand and support neurodivergent individuals. We recognize the importance of sensory needs being met, behaviour patterns and preferred form of communication to create a safe space that is sensory-considerate, accessible, and safe for all.

      Water therapy and water safety skills are core components of our approach. We recognise the therapeutic benefits of water-based activities for individuals with neurodiverse needs, including improved motor skills, relaxation, and confidence. Equally, we prioritise teaching essential water safety skills in a calm and supportive setting, helping all participants feel secure and empowered around water.
