Young Minds: Our Future (#YMOF) Survey
Wednesday 1st July 2026 to Wednesday 30th September 2026
An important survey on child and adolescent mental health and wellbeing is being conducted right across Australia and in our neighbourhood.
Young Minds: Our Future (#YMOF) will provide information on how many kids are struggling versus thriving and how we can better support those in need. It’s funded by the Australian Government & led by leading universities.
Young Minds: Our Future will be conducted across Australia in randomly selected areas. The study interviewers will be conducting door-to-door interviews in your area, Gillen. We want to reassure you of the legitimacy of this study and request your support in promoting this study.
When interviewers are in our area, if you're invited, please say yes! Your participation will help our young people.

The Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing has funded this important national survey. This will provide updated nationally representative data on mental disorders among children and adolescents in Australia. YMOF is led by Curtin University, in partnership with The University of Queensland and Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research. Roy Morgan is the survey partner responsible for conducting the interviews. The study involves interviewing parents and carers of children aged 4–17 years and surveying adolescents in the home.
