Nurnaka Urrkaapuntja Tharrka, Paintings on Buffel Grass Paper

ltja Ntjarra/Many Hands Art Centre presents a new exhibition of paintings on handmade buffel-grass paper at Olive Pink Botanic Garden. The exhibition offers Indigenous perspectives on the spread of buffel grass, an invasive species that has dramatically altered Central Australian landscapes. By creating artworks on paper made from the weed itself, the artists transform a damaging environmental problem into a medium for storytelling. The exhibition invites visitors to consider the ecological and cultural impacts of buffel grass.
