Community Current: Pitch Night

We know that sometimes good ideas just need a little help to get moving.

Community Current is a new initiative by Mulla Mulla Yoga Shala, created to put $1,000 behind a community driven idea worth bringing to life.

For our first Pitch Night, five ideas have been shortlisted. We’ll come together at The Shala, share dinner, hear what they have in mind, and at the end of the night, vote on which idea will receive the $1,000 Community Current grant.

We’ll start with a potluck dinner — bring a plate to share if you can, but no stress if you can’t. There will be food for everyone.

After dinner, each of our five finalists will have five minutes to take the floor. Five minutes to tell us their idea, why they believe in it, and what they could make happen with $1,000 behind them.

Then it’s over to everyone in the room.

We vote, we choose, and together we decide which way the current flows.

Your ticket makes the grant possible. The money raised from Pitch Night will go towards putting $1,000 into the hands of one of the five ideas you’ll hear that evening.

Come for dinner. Come hear some good ideas. Come have a say in what gets brought to life.

Community Current is inspired by Human.Kind’s Ripple Effect initiative. We’re grateful to the Human.Kind team for sharing such a beautiful idea and we’re excited to explore our own community’s effects at The Shala.
