Third Eye Visions into Central Realms (2024)

      Digital

      Artist(s): Genevieve Mander-Jones

This Rollershutter Art piece has been created as part of the Mparntwe Street Art Festival 2024 in conjunction with Red Hot Arts and proudly sponsored by Activate Alice.

      The Art

These three art works represent a magical look into the Central Australian landscape. There is so much more than meets the eye and the more I connect and explore, the more I find and see. It is beyond beautiful to me.

The flora and fauna is an endless discovery. Through these designs I would love the viewer to be enchanted by the unique abundance of life there is out there in the desert.

To witness the different colours of the ancient mountain ranges that have so much knowledge and depth, that are consistently being reshaped and ever evolving while all the animals, delicate flowers and gumtrees that hug and adorn them.

To witness the different colours of the ancient mountain ranges that have so much knowledge and depth, that are consistently being reshaped and ever evolving while all the animals, delicate flowers and the wisdom of the gumtrees that hug and dress them.

The princess parrot design is the morning twilight, the fresh renewed air for a day of new beginnings and discovery.

Mt. Gillen ready to receive what the day will bring and the blossoms opening, releasing the dew night. The Snake and Skull piece depicts the heat of the middle of the day, the harsh red sun beating down on the land, the resilience of the Sturt desert peas smile back with radiant love.

The snake soaks up the rays to give them energy for the days to come.

The Barn Owl is the moon lit night vision. The wise old dream filled Owl silently soaring over the mighty Mt Sonda looking for those little spinifex mouse to feed their bellies.

I hope when people look into them they find themselves getting lost in the dreamy magic of this land.

      The Artist

Genevieve Mander-Jones grew up in the hills of Adelaide & moved to Alice Springs 15 years ago. Mparntwe took her under its wing showing her the beauty of this ancient land. She was fascinated by the endless landscape that surrounds the town, the soft views & harsh realities that flow into the horizon as well as the easily visible stary night skies and the beautiful moon that shines so bright & clear against the deep darkness between them. One of Genevieve's favourite things to do is connect, explore and learn about the flora and fauna & finding new things that she's never seen before.

Genevieve's stylised Art is unique; drawing from a spiritual place often including feminine form, animals, plants and nature scenes. Her works are ever evolving. She mainly works on partridge paper with water based paints but she also explores all kinds of other mediums & works full time as a Tattoo Artist. She feels extremely fortunate to tap into her creative side and share the scared craft of marking human skin with her Art permanently & feels honoured and privileged to be in this line of work.

Genevieve wishes to forever create and inspire within herself and everyone around her through her eclectic Art offerings & warm eccentric personality.
