About the Art
This mural was a 2018 youth initiative project designed to celebrate soccer as a vital sport in the town while portraying the artist's love for Alice Springs. The composition depicts local soccer players in their team uniforms set against the backdrop of iconic local landmarks, including the MacDonnell Ranges, the Todd River, the Stuart Highway, and the Ghan train line. The mural also features representations of native flora and fauna. The creation of the piece was a collaborative effort involving over 50 young people, schools, and community members from all walks of life, including participants from headspace Alice Springs.
