About the Art:
The integrated artwork throughout Newland Park Play and Skate Precinct was created in collaboration with local artist Alison Hittmann during the project’s early design stages. Inspired by the Caterpillar Dreaming story, the designs aim to weave cultural storytelling into everyday elements of the space.
While broader public art plans couldn’t be fully realised, parts of Alison’s original concepts were thoughtfully carried through in features like the handrails and bins. She was later re-engaged during construction to refine the artwork, helping ensure the final designs stayed true to the original vision.
These subtle details add character to the precinct and offer a meaningful connection to story, culture and place for everyone who visits.
