About the Art
Influenced by long First Nation history and immediate surroundings, this work captures the strength and resilience of First Nation riders, who initially rode under indentured labour but later turned the dynamic on its head, adopting and owning the ‘stockman’ identity.
This work also gives a nod to Australia’s queer and gender-diverse rodeo riders and the town’s reputation as an LGBTQIA+ haven.
About the Project
This work was created as part of the Red Hot Arts - Street Art Festival 2021.
