The Gathering Garden is a large-scale environmental installation combining sculptural elements and landscaping to form a contemplative public space.
About the Inspiration
The work reflects the layered history of the Civic Centre site, acknowledging Afghan cameleers, early European settlers and the Arrernte people. It also references the cultural diversity of the region and the many stories embedded in the land.
About the Collaboration
Created collaboratively with artists from multiple Central Australian communities, reinforcing collective authorship and shared storytelling.
