About the Art:
This Atyunpe (Perentie) sculpture reflects its surroundings. The sculpture is situated midway between two rocky outcrops (Annie Meyer Hill and Spencer Hill) and is on a main thoroughfare between the wilds of the Todd River, Lhere Mparntwe and Ankerre Ankerre (Coolibah Swamp), and celebrates the beauty of our town with ‘the bush’ penetrating right into the heart of Alice Springs.
The sculpture is dedicated to all Arrernte people who have worked so hard to protect their country and have helped make this town such a beautiful place to live in.
