Mayor Asta Hill brings a strong background in law, advocacy, and community engagement to her role as leader of the 15th Alice Springs Town Council. A qualified lawyer and dedicated human rights advocate, she has worked to enhance access to justice for Central Australians for more than a decade. Most recently, she served as a criminal lawyer at the Central Australian Women’s Legal Service (2025), following seven years with Legal Aid NT (2017–2024). She holds a Master’s Degree in International Law and undergraduate qualifications in Law and International Studies.
Beyond her legal career, Mayor Hill has been an active contributor to community life in Central Australia. She has served on the boards of the Arid Lands Environment Centre, Red Hot Arts, the Women Lawyers Association of the NT, and the Young Lawyers Association of the NT. She is a budding soccer player with Verdi Red, enjoys community choir with Alice Sings, as well as catching up with friends over coffee at the community garden. You’re bound to see her riding around town with her two young kids!
Mayor Hill is proud to represent the people of Alice Springs and is committed to building a connected and thriving community whose diversity is championed and celebrated.
