Councillor Larissa Ellis joins the Alice Springs Town Council for the first time, bringing a wealth of experience in social services leadership and community advocacy. With a Bachelor of Social Work and a Graduate Diploma in Leadership and Management, she has dedicated her career to improving outcomes for vulnerable people across the region. From 2014 to 2020, she served as Director of Allied Health, Aged Care and Hearing Health, before taking on her current role as Chief Executive Officer of Women’s Safety Services of Central Australia in 2020.
Her commitment to community extends well beyond her professional career. Councillor Ellis is a board member of the NT Council of Social Services, serving as Secretary since 2022, and Deputy Chair of the NT Working Women’s Centre since 2024. She also lends her time as Secretary of the FabAlice committee and is a proud volunteer and committee member of Drovers.
Outside of work and Council, she enjoys reading, hosting dinners and get-togethers with friends, and caring for her beloved dogs, Banjo and Marigold.
