Councillor Cherisse Buzzacott is an Arrernte woman, T.O. and is a first-time elected member of the Alice Springs Town Council, bringing with her a passion for health, family, and community. As a dedicated midwife at Alice Springs Hospital, she has been a strong advocate for the health and wellbeing of local families, combining her professional expertise with a genuine commitment to improving community outcomes. Alongside her healthcare career, she is now a local business owner, further strengthening her ties to Alice Springs.
Cr Buzzacott has been actively involved in a range of community organisations. She has served as a member of the Mparntwe NAIDOC Committee (2022–2025), contributed to the Alice Springs Softball Association, and proudly represented the region as a softball ambassador for the Alice Springs Masters Games. She is also a member of the Gillen Primary School Council and engages regularly with NTCOGSO, demonstrating her dedication to education and supporting young people and families.
Outside of her work and community roles, Cr Buzzacott enjoys playing softball, reading, musicals and theatre, and creative writing. Above all, she values time spent with her children and family.
