Delve into the different facets of the cultural fabric of Alice Springs and hear from the filmmakers who tell these enduring stories. All screenings are free to attend.
✨Tuesday 2 Dec - Lasseter’s Bones
Uncover one of Australia’s most enduring mysteries in Lasseter’s Bones, a gripping documentary that follows the legend of Harold Lasseter and his fabled lost gold reef. Filmmaker Luke Walker finds Lasseter’s 85 year-old son, still searching the desert, not for gold, but something far more precious.

✨Thursday 4 Dec - CAAMA Retrospective
Celebrate the legacy and creative force of CAAMA (Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association) in this special retrospective event. Through film and storytelling, we’ll explore the impact of CAAMA’s work in amplifying First Nations voices and shaping cultural narratives.
Join us for an evening of screenings and hear from CAAMA alumna Erica Glynn.

✨Saturday 6 December - Watandar, My Countryman
Discover the Afghan history of central Australia and its relevance today. When former Afghan Refugee and photographer, Muzafar Ali, discovers that Afghans have been an integral part of Australia for over 160 years, he begins to photograph their descendants in a search to define his own new Afghan-Australian identity. Hear from the film’s producers in a streamed Q and A.
