NEW: Addiction Recovery Program 

Friday 1.00pm - 3.00pm
starting 14 July 2017

Alice Springs Public Library - Meeting Room
Advice, support and guidance for those living with addiction. The 12-step program incorporates gospel principles and fosters recovery and healing for all types of addiction. Facilitated by Elder and Sister Lea, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Completely confidential. All welcome. No bookings required.

Alice Springs CHESS Club

Wednesdays from 6pm in the library, (almost) every week! 

Love a game of chess? From social players to more serious competitors, all are welcome. Please bring along a chess set if you have one. Refreshments provided.

NOTE: Chess Club does not meet during the School Holidays. Last session for Term 2 is Wednesday 21 June. Start date for Term 3 is Wednesday 26 July.


Young Writers' Club

Wednesday afternoons 3.30pm to 5pm in the library. 

Learn the building blocks of writing a story! The Young Writers' Club meets each Wednesday during the school term. It is the perfect way for budding authors, screenplay writers, journalists and storytellers to learn the building blocks of writing. For 7 to 12 year olds. No bookings required. This is a free event. Snacks provided. 


Monday afternoons 5pm to 6pm in the library. 

The Alice Springs Public Library has its very own LEGO Club and you're invited to join in!
LEGO is supplied (although donations are always appreciated). All you need is a willingness to have fun and create! Create something yourself, in a team or try out our Challenge Cards. There is something for everyone at the LEGO Club.
Free. No bookings required.


Conversation Group for Women

Friday afternoons 5pm to 6pm in the library. 

• Relaxed weekly meetings
• Practice conversational English
• Make new friends
• Coffee & Tea provided

Meet other women wanting to practice their conversational English skills in these relaxed weekly meetings.

NOTE: Conversation Group for Women does not meet during the School Holidays. Last session for Term 2 is Friday 23 June. Start date for Term 3 is Friday 28 July.


U3A Creative Writing Group

First & Third Saturday each month. 1.30pm-3.30pm.

If you are over 50, have a love of writing and would like to share your stories, improve your skills or just meet with like-minded folk, give our U3A Creative Writing Group a go!

NOTE: This meeting is held after library opening hours in the library Meeting Room - please enter via the old entrance off Gregory Terrace.


Monthly Reading Group

Third Saturday of each month. Next session is Saturday 15 April 12pm.

Love to chat about books? Welcome to our Monthly Reading Group, held on the 3rd Saturday of the month, from 12.00pm until 1.00pm. No reservations required — just come along for the books that interest you.

For 2-5 year olds. Come along and enjoy story telling and toys! 

Baby Rhyme Time: held each Friday morning at 10:15am.

For 0-2 year olds. Join us for songs and rhymes and see the joy sparkle in your baby's eyes!
