NOTICE OF PROPOSED MAKING OF BY-LAWS Alice Springs (Waste Management Facility) By-laws 2013

Notice is hereby given that after 21 days of the publication of this notice, the Alice Springs Town Council (‘Council’) proposes to make by-laws concerning the management of the Alice Springs Waste Management Facility. They are to be called the Alice Springs (Waste Management Facility) By-laws 2013 and will repeal the Alice Springs (Garbage Dumps) By-laws 1984.

International Cricket at Traeger Park

The Alice Springs Town Council welcomes the Northern Territory Government and Cricket Australia's announcement of the Chairman's XI tour match against England to be played at Traeger Park from 29-30 November 2013.

Management of the Alice Springs Aquatic and Leisure Centre

Alice Springs Town Council will take over the management of the Alice Springs Aquatic and Leisure Centre as of 1 July 2013.

Council Meetings - Change to start times

Notice is herby given that as of the next Ordinary Council meeting, to be held on Monday 29 April 2013, there will be a new commencement time of 6:00pm for all Ordinary Council meetings. Prior to the 6:00pm meeting commencement, an open forum will be held from 5:30pm to provide the community with an opportunity for informal questions and answers with the Mayor and Councillors.

New Deputy and Committee Chairs.

At last night’s Ordinary Alice Springs Town Council meeting Councillor Liz Martin was voted in as the new Deputy Mayor.

UPDATE: Council Wine and Spirit Bottle scheme

Territory Metals (operator of the Council Collection scheme) has advised they will be trading as normal (- until further notice - and will be accepting wine & spirit glass bottles as part of the Council scheme during this time. Territory Metals normal trading hours are Monday to Saturday 8am to 3pm.

Confidential Special Meeting of the Twelfth Council

Notice is hereby given that his worship the Mayor, My Damien Ryan, has convened a confidential special meeting of the council pursuant to section 59(2)(a) of the Local Government Act.
