Come and see Council at this year’s Central Australian Expo

The Alice Springs Town Council will once again be setting up at this year’s Central Australian Expo, and will be offering more than ever to people who drop by.

Council’s Ranger Unit will once again be promoting responsible pet ownership at the Central Australian Expo, and will be there to answer any questions people might have about owning pets in Alice Springs.

People will also be able to find out information on how to register their dogs, and get details on local animal by-laws. There will be a range of RSPCA animals at the display, which are always popular with children.

“All RSPCA animals purchased on the day will also be given free registration from Council,” said Kevin Everett, Manager of the Ranger Unit.

People who buy a pet, or already own a pet, can also purchase a range of pet toys that will be for sale at the display. If you head past Councils display, don’t forget to enter the “count the doggie biscuit” competition.

There will also be a range of Ranger equipment on display for people to look at and learn about, including a dog and cat cage, catch pole and animal seizure equipment. Rangers will also be there to provide information on parking in Alice Springs, and will also deal with any general enquires people may have on the day.

In addition to the ever popular Ranger Unit display, Council will this year be providing more for people to access through the Council stand. With regular visits from Alice Springs Town Council’s elected members, it will provide a great opportunity for people to meet and speak to their community representatives.

The Alice Springs Public Library will have plenty of information for people to access about the library, and will also be providing give-aways. Ever-popular children’s character Booka will be there on Saturday afternoon to entertain. People can also stop by and collect a range of Council brochures, ranging from Cycle Path Maps to Mobility Access Maps.

“There will be a lot more on show at this year’s Council display, so make sure you pop by and say hello to our friendly Council staff and representatives – you never know what you might discover,” said Mayor Fran Kilgariff.
