Council is seeking an enthusiastic and suitably skilled person to undertake a range of horticultural activities, specifically related to the general maintenance and beautification of Council’s managed ovals, parks and reserves
Salary: Level 4 (Municipal Employee), $35,382 pa and other allowances in accordance with Council’s Workplace Partnership Agreement

Undertake a range of horticultural activities, specifically related to the general maintenance and beautification of Council’s managed ovals, parks and reserves
• All horticultural activities on ovals, parks, reserves, drains, verges and laneways including fertilizing, mowing, trimming, edging and tree pruning
• Identify and remove weeds, pests and diseases and eradicate them through the use of pesticides and herbicides
• Operate and maintain plant and equipment, including front deck mowers, edgers and whipper-snippers to a safe and competent standard, and identify any necessary repairs
• Work unsupervised following instructions and procedures, as required
• Keep accurate daily work records and report any non-conformances to Supervisor
• Contribute to occupational health safety and welfare (OHS&W) compliance by using safe working practices
• Work as part of a team and contribute to maintaining a harmonious work environment
• Foster a good working relationship with the general public and facility users
• Demonstrate behaviours consistent with the ASTC Code of Conduct
• Undertake of a range of appropriate support duties as directed by the Supervisor

Current LR Class Licence to be able to drive in the Northern Territory
1. Ability to effectively undertake a variety of parks and ovals maintenance tasks including fertilizing mowing, trimming, edging and tree pruning
2. Ability to identify and remove weeds, pests and diseases and eradicate them through the use of chemicals
3. Ability to operate and maintain plant and equipment including front deck mowers, edgers and whipper-snippers to a safe and competent standard, and identify any necessary repairs
4. Ability to work unsupervised following instructions and procedures, including keeping accurate daily work records and reporting any issues to Supervisor
5. Be physically fit with the ability to work safely within OHS&W procedures in a manual environment
6. Ability to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the ASTC Code of Conduct, co-operate with the general public and work as part of an effective, harmonious team
7. Current LR Class Licence to be able to drive in the Northern Territory
