It's HOLIDAY time!
We've got some great activities on offer these holidays - for everyone from babies through to young adults and best of all, they're ALL FREE!
If you can't make it down to the library for one of the set sessions, we still have you covered with a craft table available all school holidays.
We also have a Curious Creatures Challenge running all holidays. Walk in, sit down and challenge yourself and get crafty!
Also, don't forget about our huge selection of kids books, DVDs, talking books and more - there's something for everyone at the library.

Programs for Children & Youth
We run regular FREE programs for children aimed at developing literacy, promoting reading and use of the library resources, contributing to community devlopment and the sharing of culture and knowledge.

Baby Rhyme Time
Friday mornings from 10.15am-10.45am
For 0-2 year olds. Songs, rhymes, stories and play are a wonderful way to develop a love of language. This interactive session is designed to support pre-literacy education in a fun and social way.
FREE. No bookings required. 0-2 year olds.
Monday afternoons from 2.00pm-2.30pm, and Tuesday mornings from 10.15am-10.45am
For 2-5 year olds. Learning can be as simple as one book. Preschool Storytime is a fun and interactive session using books, rhymes, songs and play to stimulate literacy development.
FREE. Bookings not required. 2-5 year olds.
LEGO Club will be breaking up for 2018. The final session will be on Monday 10 Dec, 3.00 pm - 4.30 pm.
Returns Monday Feb 4, 2019.
The Alice Springs Public Library has its very own LEGO Club and you're invited to join in! All ages welcome.
LEGO is supplied (although donations are always appreciated). All you need is a willingness to have fun and create! Create something yourself, in a team or try out our Challenge Cards. There is something for everyone at the LEGO Club.
FREE. No bookings required during School Term time.
Young Writers Club - Term 4 'Creative Writing and Expression' begins!
The final session will be on Wednesday 12 Dec. Returns for Term 1 on Wednesday Jan 30, 2019.

For reading, writing and drawing enthusiasts aged 7 to 12.
Are you a keen reader? Do you love to draw? Do you like creative writing? Create and express your stories this term with the Young Writers' Club.
Come develop your storytelling skills in a fun and social environment.

Monthly Recycled Arts Club
Next meeting: 21 December from 3.30 - 5.00 pm in the Library Meeting Room
Join us every third Friday of the month at the Library as we show you some awesome tricks to turn trash into treasure.
Up next: Recycled Christmas craft, just in time for the big day.

ON HOLD FOR TERM THREE, BACK IN TERM FOUR.
Code Club is a free after school program for boys and girls aged 8-12 years and teaches children the skills, confidence and opportunity to shape their world using coding, robotics and game-design. Children will learn to code with a new language, HTML/CSS. This is the first language students will learn to code with in text. Begin the stepping stones to building your very own website with HTML/CSS.
ON HOLD FOR TERM THREE, BACK IN TERM FOUR.
Discover the library’s robotics collection and skill yourself up for the future at our new weekly STEAM Corps program for boys and girls ages 8 to 14. in STEAM Corps we will be working with and programming the LEGO EV3 MINDSTORMS.

Community Events and Organisations
In addition to the programs run within the library, we also visit other organisations such as:
- Local schools - contact us if you would like to bring your class for a visit!
- Territory Parents Support Group at the Flynn Drive Community Health Centre
- Yipirinya School Storytime
We also take part in community events such as:
- Children’s Week Celebrations
- Alice Desert Festival events
- Bangtail Muster and School Fetes with Booka the dog, the Library’s mascot
In our Youth area, we have a range of PCs and Macs for use by 12-17 year olds. These provide access to filtered internet, online resources and music software.
Youth can access these computers for FREE from 3pm on school days and all day on weekends and school holidays.
Special access during school hours will only be granted if a parent or guardian is present.
