Healthy Communities Initiative - Active in Alice

Alice Springs Town Council invites adults with, or at risk of, acute or chronic conditions to participate in the Active in Alice programs.

 Some of the acute or chronic conditions our FREE programs target include, but are not limited to:

  • Diabetes
  • Arthritis
  • Obesity
  • Cardiovascular disease (including stroke, heart attack, hypertension)
  • Cancer
  • Osteoporosis

'Active in Alice' aims to increase awareness of chronic disease risk factors amongst adults by proactively working to reduce risk by providing access to physical activities & lifestyle education opportunities.

'This National Partnership Agreement on Preventive Health initiative was funded by the Australian Government'

FREE programs include:

  • Heart Foundation Walking
  • Heartmoves
  • Lift for Life
  • AFL Football Fitness for Women
  • Aquatics
  • Yoga after Breast Cancer
  • One off community lifestyle education events
