“Alice Springs Family Day Care has been selected as the successful operator on the basis of their experience in the childcare industry, their detailed plan for future operation of the facility and qualifications of their staff,” said Alice Springs Town Council Director of Corporate and Community Services, Craig Catchlove.

“Council would also like to acknowledge the assistance of Lil’ Antz Childcare, who temporarily took over the running of the facility after a brief closure, until a permanent operator could be found. Because of their help Eastside Childcare Centre was able to remain open to the Alice Springs community,” said Mr Catchlove.

Alice Springs Family Day Care has been running successfully in Alice Springs since 1979, and the opportunity to include Eastside Childcare Centre in their provision of services to the community is an exciting prospect.

“The new Centre will be operated as a not for profit community based service, with a motivated team of individuals who are dedicated to providing high quality child care behind the helm,” said Alice Springs Family Day Care Scheme Manager, Cindy Pierson.

“We are currently recruiting and seeking expressions of interest from interested people who would be interested in working in the Centre – but I am sure there will be many people who will want to join us in this new venture,” said Mrs Pierson.

“We are also currently taking names for enrolment so people can actually call us now on 89523406 to put their names on the waiting list. We will then contact people in the New Year with further information and to confirm enrolments,” said Mrs Pierson
