The Alice Springs Senior Citizens Centre

The Alice Springs Senior Citizens Centre is located at Wills Terrace, next to Anzac Oval. The centre has regular organised activities and is also available for functions and events. To find out about hiring or using the centre ring the Senior Citizens Centre on 8952 4072.

Senior Citizens Centre facilities and activities include the following:

  • A workshop with machinery such as a wood lathe
  • Snooker and 8-ball accessories
  • A monthly dinner, on the fourth Tuesday of the month
  • Light lunches, daily, at very light prices.

Senior Citizens Centre opening hours:

Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 3.00pm

The Senior Citizens Centre Bus Service

The Senior Citizens Centre runs a bus service for members. The service is available for a donation to members. Pickups commence at 9am and 11am from homes, and a return service from the Centre to homes operates at 3.00pm everyday except Wednesdays. Contact the Centre the day before you wish to use the 9am service, or on the same day as you wish to use the 11am service.

Council Concessions

The Alice Springs Town Council offers aged concessions for the following:

  • Travel on the Alice Springs bus service, Asbus
  • Council property rates. bill and Dog registration.

Other Council Services

Pensioner prunings collection

Twice a year Council staff collect pensioner’s garden prunings for free. This is usually in May and November, but the specific date is advertised in the Talk of the Town column in Wednesday's Alice Springs News. Just call the Council on 8950 0500 to arrange a pick up.
