Stress Less in the Park
“STRESS LESS IN THE PARK” is a great community event celebrating Mental Health Week. It is being held on the Alice Springs Hospital Lawns, Stuart Terrace on Friday 13th October from 9am to 1pm.
Now in its fourth year, “STRESS LESS IN THE PARK” is a regular feature in the Alice Springs community calendar. It’s our chance as a community to explore the services and supports that are available in Central Australia, to assist with mental health wellbeing.
It’s also a chance for the community to explore the Northern Territory theme and painting for Mental Health Week (image attached)
Watchful Eyes “This painting is about watching over people with mental health issues and making sure that they get looked after properly, making sure that the families are there for them and that they get the right professional help. Supporting people on their homelands and doing cultural activities. Get them sitting down on the ground out in the bush – see the land.” - M.K Turner, Artist – “Watchful Eyes” was created by Margaret Kemarre Turner OAM, Patricia Webb, Michelle Williams, Lorraine Gorey and Patricia Drover at the Akeyulerre Healing Centre with the support of other senior Arrernte ladies: View image at https://ntmhc.org.au/mental-health-week/
