Partnerships

Alice Springs Town Council is involved in a range of partnerships at the regional, national and international levels.

Two ongoing regional development partnerships are the Freedom of Entry for HMAS Arunta and the tripartite Sister Local Governments Charter with the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder in Western Australia and the Shire of Longreach in Queensland.

Sister Local Government Charter

The town of Alice Springs entered into a tripartite Sister Local Governments agreement with the city of Kalgoorlie-Boulder in Western Australia and the Shire of Longreach in Queensland on December 8, 2002.

The goals of the agreement are to deepen mutual understanding and trust and promote goodwill and friendship through tripartite co-operation.

In order to attain the above ideals we will fully and mutually work together to make this declaration of a Sister Local Government Agreement fruitful and substantial, trusting that the everlasting friendship between our citizens will contribute to shared social and economic benefits.
