Alice Springs Public Library School Holiday program

Spend the summer holiday being a sleuth with the Alice Springs Public Library school holiday program!
There is an exciting range of activities to choose from including games, Cluedo, and a talk by the Australian Federal Police Bomb Response Team – kicking off 16 December.
Check out the Summer Reading Club, which starts Friday December 13, for more detective work in this year’s theme: Investigation.
Children and youth from 0-16 can register for the program at the Library Information Desk from Friday 13 December.
Participants receive an activity pack and a reading record. Win prizes for reading and go in the draw for the major prize which will take place at the Summer Reading Club Party on Friday 24 January.
Children of all ages can enjoy face painting and craft and the major prize draw and presentation will be followed by a barbeque and a Mario Carts tournament!
The prizes for each age group are:
0-5: Little Tikes Anchors Away Pirate Ship
6–12: FujiFilm Instax Mini 8 Instant Camera
13–16: Xbox 360
For the budding filmmakers there are Creating Digital Book Trailers workshops: how to use Windows Movie Maker to make short films about books they love and go in the draw for a prize.
All entries will be screened at the Summer Reading Club Party on Friday 24 January.
If you’re handy, why not learn to make your own drum and then learn how to play it!
For the younger children there’s also Christmas Craft and silliness with the underpants-themed Storytime, and the Putrid Poems poetry as well as the screening of Scooby-Doo: The Mystery Begins.
