Rex Mooney - Chief Executive Officer
Rex grew up in Long Jetty on the New South Wales Central Coast.
After completing his Higher School Certificate he joined the Gosford City Council as a Junior Clerk.
He went on to complete his Town Clerk Certificate at age 21 and by the time he was 26 he became the then youngest Shire Clerk in NSW.
Since then Rex has always held the position of Town Clerk (or Chief Executive Officer) across a variety of sized organisations in states including New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria.
Rex is married to Janet with four children and in his spare time he enjoys catching up with family, church activities and playing guitar in a 60's cover band, "In Tatters".
Rex has been the CEO at Alice Springs Town Council since he started with the organisation in January 2003 and is the longest serving Town Clerk / Chief Executive Officer in Alice Springs Town Council’s 40 plus year history.
Craig Wilson – Acting Director Corporate and Community Services
Craig was born in Penola South Australia, where he commenced his local government career. He was appointed Deputy CEO of this Council at 23 years of age and at 28 years of age was appointed CEO of Elliston District Council, one of the youngest appointees in South Australia at the time.
His career in local government as a CEO then extended for a period of 22 years at various Councils, all of which were rurally based apart from the City of Port Pirie. Craig was then appointed CEO of the Mid North Regional Development Board based in the Clare Valley for seven years.
In recent years Craig has undertaken consulting work for local government organsiations, including Alice Springs Town Council and small businesses.
Craig enjoys visits to the gym, tennis, swimming and walking. He is an avid AFL fan, enjoys live theatre and the arts, in particular Aboriginal art. Craig has been a member of the SA Art in Public Places Committee and has represented South Australia on the Australian Council of the Arts Community Cultural Development Board.
Dinesh Pillay - Director Finance
Dinesh was born and raised in Durban, South Africa. After studying Commerce at the University of South Africa, he completed his commerce internship at Desai Jadwat Chartered Accountants Incorporated.
For 6 years, Dinesh served as a Group Internal Auditor and Accountant for the Combined Motor Holdings Group in South Africa.
In search of a new adventure, Dinesh relocated to Australia. In Roma, Queensland he worked for Pickering Motors Group before taking up a position with Queensland Health.
Since 2011 Dinesh has lived in Alice Springs and worked for nearly 5 years as Manager Finance. In 2015 he was the youngest person to be appointed as a Director in Council’s history.
Dinesh is married to Jessie and they have two young sons.
Scott Allen - Director Technical Services
Scott was born in Toowoomba and grew up in Oakey, Queensland, also spending time living in England on a number of occasions whilst playing cricket.
Scott is a greenkeeper by trade. He has undertaken further studies, most recently achieving a Graduate Certificate in Local Government Leadership. Scott also has several diplomas in turf-related areas.
Scott started his local government career at the Toowoomba City Council. He commenced work with Alice Springs Town Council in October 2007 as the Supervisor Parks and Gardens. Scott was the Manager Works for a number of years before being appointed as Director Technical Services.
Scott and his wife Michelle have two daughters and a son. Having worked in local government for a significant period, Scott enjoys the ability to make a difference in his and his family’s community.
Scott enjoys all sports, especially cricket and rugby league, and a passionate supporter of Queensland in every sporting arena.
