The Alice Springs Cricket Association contains four clubs - Federals, Rovers, RSL Works & West - who play among themselves over the traditional Australian Cricket months of October through to March. From time to time teams from Tennant Creek and Ayers Rock get involved, and there are numerous community event type carnivals involving cricket in a variety of forms held around town. Alice Springs hosts the Imparja Cup - Australia\\'s national indigenous cricket carnival - every year in early February which puts cricket in town on the national stage. A Grade and under 17 cricket is played on turf wickets, with A, B & C Grade played Saturday afternoon, with the U17s U15s, U13s, U11s and U9s played Saturday mornings. Although it should be noted that many A grade games are played as Day/Night affairs on Saturdays during December and January in what is an excellent atmosphere. A fun Women\\'s competition is played on Thursday nights under lights at Flynn Drive, which is tremendously social, and designed for all to participate. There is also a large In2Cricket program, and Boy Free Zone Cricket held through the season, so cricket caters for anyone, of all ages and abilities across town. The Reclink competition played on Wednesday mornings involves people within the community who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, with a highly exciting participation based game format that is fun to play for the good to new or learning player.
