Council Meeting Documents

Council Meetings are held in the Council Chamber, Todd Street, on the last Monday of every month, commencing at 6.30pm.

Council Committee Meetings are held in the Council Chamber, Todd Street, from the 3rd last Monday of every month, commencing at 5.30pm.

Almost all business which comes before the Council is first considered at Committee Meetings.

The public and the media are welcome to attend all Council and Committee meetings, except while confidential items are discussed.

Agendas are available at Council reception on the Friday preceding the meetings and on the Council’s website.

Under Section 67 (4) of the Local Government Act 2008, a copy of Council and Committee "minutes must, within 10 business days after the date of the meeting to which they relate, be available to the public: (a) on the Council's website; and (b) at the Council's public office."

Council Standing Committees

Three committees composed of Council employees and Aldermen discuss issues and make recommendations to the full Council on policy.

Finance

Responsible for the Council's

Technical Services

Responsible for all issues relating to:

  • Urban/town development
  • Environmental policy and strategy
  • Environmental health
  • By-laws compliance
  • Intrastructure assets maintenance
  • Infrastructure development
  • Open space development

Advisory Committees

For more specialised advice the Council Committees are supported by a number of Advisory Committees covering areas such as recreational facilities, disability services, cemetery management and local bus services.
