Cash For Containers - Closure of Council’s Cash for Container scheme

Saturday 3 March from 9am until 1pm will be the final day of operation at the Council's Cash for Container scheme. After this date the Council Depot will no longer be accepting containers, due to the introduction of the NT Government's Container Deposit Legislation.

It has always been the intention of Council that once the NT Government scheme was in place that the Council's scheme would cease. Alice Springs Town Council would like to thank the community for making this initiative a success, having collected close to 17 million containers during the life of the Council scheme!
