Alice Springs SportAlice Springs has beautiful scenery, great weather conditions and the locals just love their sport! The elevation and dry climate are also unique conditions to Alice Springs that are enticing to athletes. Alice Springs Town Council is dedicated to fostering a united, supportive and healthy community and aims to achieve this is by providing recreational, sporting and leisure facilities and programs that improve the community's quality of life. Sports Facilities Advisory CommitteeThe Alice Springs Town Council is inviting interested persons to submit an expression of interest for membership on the Sports Facilities Advisory Committee (SFAC). The Committee is made up of representatives from Government, the Council and community organisations, as well as individual members from the community. Download Expression of Interest form. Nominations close at 5pm on Monday, 31st October 2011.
Sporting Facilities in Alice SpringsAlice Springs Town Council provides and maintains various sporting ovals and facilities within the community. Commitment to encouraging physical activity, coupled with financial support from the NT Government, has enabled the Council to develop facilities for almost every sport. Council is committed to maintaining and developing these facilities to the highest standard, which is a testament to how much sport and recreation is an integral part of Council’s strategic planning. Alice Springs Town Council’s goal is to ensure that adequate sporting ovals and facilities are developed, operated and maintained so residents, individuals and community groups have access to quality venues for sporting and recreation activities.
